Woodlands Golf Club, is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Alton, Illinois.
Woodlands Golf Club opened in 1994. The course was designed by Terry and Bruce Hansen.
If you enjoy playing a course with lots of water hazards,Woodlands Golf Club is the course for you. Water comes into play on fourteen of the eighteen holes. The first two holes are relatively flat with a fairway creek to be crossed, the next seven holes are in a hilly wooded area with elevated tees. The first three holes on the back nine are hilly. A particularly interesting hole is #10, a 199-yard, par 3, with a 450-foot high elevated tee box. The final holes are links-style. Hole #18, a 512-yard, par 5, can be viewed from the clubhouse restaurant and bar.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,408 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,546 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 524 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 135 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 8, a 415 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Woodlands Golf Club is # 5, a 315 yard par-4.
